Built a Loyalty KPI Dashboard for Woolworths Sydney Stores

Executive Summary

As part of my data analytics training at The Data Analytics Institute, I built a Power BI KPI dashboard tracking Woolworths Everyday Rewards loyalty performance across Sydney stores. The project required translating raw loyalty and sales data into store-level KPIs that a retail operations team could act on directly. I designed the data model, the KPI logic and the dashboard layout to surface loyalty engagement and trading performance trends by store. The result is a dashboard framework directly applicable to the retail operations and corporate structure roles I am now targeting.

Context

This was an applied project completed during my time at The Data Analytics Institute, using real Woolworths Group retail data for Sydney stores. The brief was to build a KPI dashboard supporting loyalty programme performance analysis.

Challenge

Loyalty and sales data needed to be modelled into store-level KPIs that were meaningful to a retail operations audience, not just technically accurate. The dashboard needed to surface trading performance trends clearly enough to support commercial decisions.

Strategic Approach

    Data Modelling

    Structured the underlying loyalty and sales data into a model capable of supporting store-level KPI reporting.

    KPI Design

    Defined the loyalty engagement and trading performance KPIs most relevant to a retail operations audience.

    Dashboard Build

    Built the Power BI dashboard, applying the same dashboard design discipline later used in commercial engagements at DashboardWorx.
