Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 August 2026

1. Who We Are

This site is operated by Joseph Muiruri, a Commercial Finance & Data Analyst based in Melbourne, Australia. For the purposes of this policy, Joseph Muiruri is the data controller responsible for the personal data described below. You can reach the controller at cliffjoem@gmail.com with any question about how your data is handled.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

This site collects very little personal data, and only what is needed to respond to you or keep the site running reliably:

  • Booking details. If you book a call through the Calendly widget embedded on the Contact page, Calendly collects your name and email address on our behalf to schedule and confirm the meeting.
  • Anonymised traffic and performance data. This site uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand overall visitor traffic and page performance. Both are cookieless and, per Vercel's own documentation, do not collect personally identifiable information.
  • Error and performance diagnostics. This site uses Sentry to catch and diagnose errors. When an error occurs, Sentry may incidentally capture technical data such as browser type and IP address at the point of the error, to help identify and fix the issue.

3. Why We Collect It

Data is collected for three narrow purposes: to respond to enquiries and scheduling requests you make, to understand how the site is performing and fix errors when they happen, and to generally keep the site fast and reliable for everyone who visits it.

5. How Long We Retain Data

  • Enquiry and booking data is retained for 12 months after our last contact, then deleted.
  • Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights data is aggregated and anonymised at collection, so no individual retention period applies.
  • Sentry error data is retained per Sentry's own default retention period, currently 90 days.

6. Third-Party Services

This site relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

If Google Analytics is enabled in future (via a configured GA4 property), this policy will be updated to reflect it and cookie consent will be requested accordingly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal data held about you, request that it be corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, and request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact cliffjoem@gmail.com.

8. Supervisory Authority

This site and its operator are based in Australia. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Cookies

This site does not require session-related cookies for its core functionality, beyond what Calendly sets when its booking widget loads on the Contact page. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights do not use cookies. Should any future analytics cookies be enabled, they will be governed by the cookie consent banner shown on this site.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the site or the services it uses. The effective date below will be updated whenever this policy changes.

11. Effective Date

This policy is effective as of 22 August 2026.
